Professional videography and cinematography is a signature service at Event Weddings. With a background in TV and Radio, lead director and head editor Sy Chung believes that wedding videos should be created with heart, and designed to last for many years to come -- therefore integrity and timelessness must be the foundation to any good production. The focus is on a watchable full length video for many years, not a one minute short that's good for a week.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
1 Timelessness, Integrity, Not Fads
Production for Cinema, Not TikTok: We are not producing content for social media trends that may become dated in a few years. We are producing films that should remain enjoyable and watchable decades from now. We don't chase after a bunch of stand alone shots: We are about graceful narrative flow and sensical story progression. Our full length and highlights productions aim to be timeless, watchable for many years to come. Often production can be too focused on what is "Titokable" or "Instagrammable", we believe in integrity. Our Level 2 full length videos are edited in cinematic format, and not just a collection of raw footages edited together, and we do not send our videos to be edited overseas.
2 High Quality Full Length Production
Video production is created for decades to come. Short highlight videos are enjoyable and good for sharing for a week, but should not be the focus. Many wedding videos overemphasise the short version and pay less attention to the integrity of the unseen full length because it cannot be shared on social media. It is often edited offshore, language context is often lost, and contextual judgements is often lost. For example when a couple thank the parents, an editorial decision should be made to change the camera angle changes to the parents. Our background in television, radio and live event production influences how we approach editing. We place heavy emphasise on the integrity on the full length because it deserves the same, or more attention than a highlights video, and all cinematic productions are edited in Australia with local event notes.
3 Storytelling, Continuation and Consistency
Unlike photography where individual photos can be standalone, video production tells a story. Combined with Planning and Director service, storyboarding of events are conceived early to make sure the story makes sense. This expertise comes from our experience in TV and live event production, and as the event is progressing we are considering how this scene affects the previous scene and future scenes. Whether it's the subject changing locations, changing clothes, position of where people are standing, or whether in the form of story-telling a particular person should not be inside the room are all consideration of a good production. Continuity situations that may go unnoticed in photography become much more obvious in video production. Good storytelling requires consideration of previous scenes, future scenes and how individual shots fit together as part of a complete narrative. Photos can survive chaos, a good video cannot. We set the scenes, and tell the story and follow traditional movie making rules.
4 Details and Hidden Moments
Whether it's a background song called "Fireworks" and at the point of the chorus the wedding fireworks blast out at first dance, or the song refers to a car and we see the couple standing with their bridal car, you may find small hidden gems within your video.
5 LIVE EVENT vs TV / No Second Take in Weddings
The challenge for wedding day video production is this: For live TV recordings, things can stop, reshot, cameras can be moved because it is camera first and live second. For live events on a live location, video is either secondary, or videos will be preset and the space is limited. Wedding videography is difficult because there are limited cameras, limited space and the live component must be balanced with the recording. This makes wedding video production extremely high pressure, and multiple backups must be available. Videography is a service that requires one of the highest level of expertise in an event.
HOW IT WORKS ON THE WEDDING DAY
While Photography can stand alone, Videography requires Planning and Wedding Director service so that throughout the planning process, video production as active consideration from the start in the context of every other event service. Your event director will work closely with the entire team to not just ensure that event is being properly filmed but also have the active task of doing directing work just like a live event director, anticipating what is next and being ready for it, and on occasions if important shots are missed, they may be reshot if there is minimal disruption to the live event. Our team aims to balance your guests' live experience with your timeless recording.

2 LEVEL 1 VIDEO RECORDING
This is a practical and budget-conscious videography option focused on preserving important moments. The full wedding ceremony, all reception speeches and formalities are professionally recorded delivered as an edited full-length recording. Consider this to be similar to the recording of a conference. If you want to remember what Dad said to you on the wedding day, and you don't need a slide in shot of your wedding flowers and a drone shot of your ceremony scene, this option is appropriate.
2. LEVEL 2 FULL CINEMATOGRAPHY PRODUCTION
This is not simply a recording of events. It is a complete production designed to tell the story of your wedding day. This full service production with a high number of cinematic footages that sets the scene and builds emotional storytelling. This includes full coverage from morning preparation until the end of event, presented as an edited cinematic full length video with a cinematic 3-5 minute highlight.
